We’re happy to announce that Humanium & IM will be attending 3D Meetup this year. It’s a brilliant project created by IM. The idea is to collect and repurpose illegal firearms, creating new items from weapons that has previously caused such destruction. At 3D Meetup Humanium will be showcasing some products created by 3D-printing Humanium powder and also tell us more about the project. Make sure to watch the video and read more about the project below.
There are hundred of millions of illegal firearms in the world. As a result, someone is shot every minute. Armed violence is a global epidemic that hits developing countries especially hard. Humanium Metal by IM is a new material made of recycled metal from gun destruction programs. The metal is melted and moulded into units, which are then made available for commercial production.
By using Humanium Metal by IM, your brand can help the world become a more peaceful place. Anything made out of any metal today can carry a message of peace tomorrow. Destroyed firearms can be recycled into components for buildings, machines or furniture; items of jewellery, buttons, utensils, tools, nails, screws, or even bicycles.
Our mission is to supply brands, artists and designers with Humanium Metal by IM to be transformed into a multitude of projects. Reaching many different markets and people, we hope to spread awareness of the devastating impact of illegal firearms and armed violence, as well as generate funds urgently needed to empower people living in conflict-torn societies.
As part of the solution to this humanitarian crisis, Humanium Metal by IM can truly be said to be the most valuable metal in the world. Humanium Metal by IM is part of IM Swedish Development Partner’s strategy to help fulfil United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 16: Promote peaceful and inclusive societies for sustainable development.
